Look Back In Wonder by Elizabeth Bryson

Undated book but assumed to be first edition. The author is a remarkable member of a remarkable Dundee family. Born in 1880, the fourth child of a family of nine. Living in great poverty, they had the Scottish passion for education and seven of them achieved university degrees. MacDonald as she was then read medicine at St Andrews and did her clinical work at Dundee Royal Infirmary. She then moved to New Zealand and worked as a doctor, specialising in gynaecology and women's health. Her autobiography has been quoted by researchers on topics such as the power of the book in the lives of working people and the medical career ambitions of women of her generation.
